*** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR FALL SEASON ***

This is where we stand right now and this is what was discussed at the managers' meeting last week:

The City of Temecula has approved the Sunday league.  So we are a go on Sundays and games will begin no earlier than 3 pm.  --REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN--We will be playing at Birdsall, same field, same format, but some managers have suggested to go 8vs8 instead of 7vs7.  --Not sure yet--.  I also want to make halves 30 minutes instead of 25 minutes. --I am working on this--.

However, I am still negotiating with the city the start-up date which I am requesting it to be as soon as possible.  worse case scenario it can end up being, the last week in August or 1st week in Sept as football is taking over fields in August for camps and they have the fields completely booked.

I should have a final date for Sundays real soon so please stay tunned. I will email managers and also post the info on the site: swasl.org as soon as I know.

WEEKNIGHTS UPDATE:

We want to continue with Tuesday and Thursday nites.  However, for the FALL (Aug to Nov) is complicated because of Football, Pop Warner, youth club soccer and AYSO.

I have requested fields already and it is very LIKELY that we WILL have a league at night in the Fall (and for the rest of the year), but I hate to say it again "I have to wait until the city is done with all their schedules to get approval and to see when we can start again and what days." I should know within next 10-15 days.

My possible options for Fall at Birdsall are:

-Play Monday nights (I personally don't like this one)
-Play Tue, Wed, Th at 8:30 pm or 9 pm only (i like this one but it's limiting on # of teams)
-Play Friday nights (not the best but I like this one)
-Or a combination of 2 & 3.

So, having said that, let's just wait a few more days and hope the city gets back to me ASAP.  I want to know now too but I also understand they are swamped with how much sports and the # of requests for those fields have grown.  I am calling them every day for an update.

I promise as soon as I know about the Sunday start-up dates and the nite league exact dates I will let all the managers know so you can email your players right away.

Sunday and weeknites will be 2 separate leagues but teams or players will be allowed to play on both or form new and separate teams.
